Terms of Service

2.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When creating an account:

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

2.2 Account Security

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.

2.3 Account Types

RecipePop offers both Free and Premium accounts:

• Free accounts: Limited to 10 saved recipes, 5 recipe imports per 24-hour period, and 20 lifetime imports
• Premium accounts: Unlimited saved recipes, up to 50 imports per 24-hour period, and additional premium features (see Section 6)

3.1 License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

3.2 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may:

• Save and organize recipes for personal use
• Import recipes from supported social media platforms
• Use pantry management and grocery list features
• Access cooking mode and timers

3.3 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.

4.1 Your Content

"User Content" means any content you create, upload, or share through the Service, including recipes you create, pantry items, grocery lists, and notes.

4.2 Ownership and License

You retain all rights to original content you create (such as personal notes and grocery lists). By importing or sharing a recipe through the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and make that recipe available to other users as part of our shared recipe database. Your identity is never associated with recipes you import—all recipes in the shared database are anonymous.

4.3 Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to share your User Content
• Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws
• Your User Content does not contain malware, viruses, or harmful code

4.4 Imported Recipes and Shared Database

When you import a recipe from social media, the extracted recipe data (ingredients, steps, and timing) is added to our shared recipe database and may be visible to other RecipePop users. Recipes in the shared database are anonymous—no personally identifying information is attached, and other users cannot see who imported a given recipe.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that content. RecipePop is not responsible for determining the copyright status of third-party recipes.

5.1 Our Rights

The Service, including its design, features, software, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by RecipePop and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Trademarks

"RecipePop," the RecipePop logo, and other marks are trademarks of RecipePop. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

5.3 Copyright Infringement

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please contact us at legal@recipepop.app with details of the alleged infringement.

6.1 Premium Subscription

RecipePop Premium is a paid subscription service offering:

• Unlimited recipe saves
• Up to 50 AI-powered imports per 24-hour period
• Custom tags for recipe organization
• Advanced search filters
• Recipe PDF export
• Ad-free experience
• Priority support

6.2 Pricing and Payment

Subscriptions are available as monthly ($3.99/month) or annual ($29.99/year) plans. Payment is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and you agree to their respective payment terms.

6.3 Free Trial

New users may receive a 7-day free trial of Premium. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription period you selected.

6.4 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage your subscription through your device's app store settings.

6.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you'll retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period. Your recipes will not be deleted, but you'll revert to Free tier limits.

6.6 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) according to their policies. We do not have direct control over refund processing. Contact the app store for refund requests.

6.7 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period but will apply upon renewal. You'll be notified of price changes in advance.

8.1 No Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2 Recipe Accuracy

We use AI to extract recipes from web pages and videos, which may not always be 100% accurate. We may display confidence scores or quality indicators alongside imported recipes to help you assess extraction results. These indicators are estimates only and do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the extracted content. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all recipe information before use. We are not responsible for any errors in imported recipes.

8.3 Health and Safety

RecipePop is a recipe management tool, not a source of dietary, nutritional, or medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for any health or dietary concerns. We are not liable for any allergic reactions, food poisoning, or other health issues that may result from recipes used through our Service.

8.4 Third-Party Content

The Service may contain links to or content from third-party platforms and websites (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and others). Links from other platforms such as Reddit, X, and general websites are supported via web import. Recipe data is extracted using a combination of self-hosted processing tools and AI (Anthropic Claude). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party platforms.

10.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by going to Profile → Delete Account in the app. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

10.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities. We may also terminate inactive accounts after a reasonable period.

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the Service immediately ends
• Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Sections of these Terms that should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply

12.1 Applicable Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

12.3 Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm. Small claims court actions are exempt from the arbitration requirement.

12.4 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

12.5 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RecipePop regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
